Granit Xhaka was booed by fans following the incident that ended up all over the media. Dominik Szoboszlai is tipped to replace the Swiss international in his central midfield spot in January. This is according to Kieran Lynch of the Mail Online.

Arsenal Targeting Dominik Szoboszlai

Szoboszlai forms a key part of  RB Salzburg, a youthful team which has seen success over the past few years. Arsenal is on the lookout for a new young player to fill the Granit Xhaka shaped gap.

Szoboszlai has played a fair share of ten games for Salzburg, bagging two goals and three assists. Being able to play in the central midfield as well as left midfield means he has versatility. Therefore, Arsenal could rotate the squad pretty well around him. Valued at £10.8 million, a sum in the region of £25 million could potentially tempt the Austrian Giants to let the Budapest born midfielder go. But will Salzburg let the midfielder leave their squad?

Szoboszlai played a very important part in helping Erling Haaland reach his unreal goal tally. Playing in behind Erling Haaland most games, Dominik Szoboszlai has the creativity to help him stand out on the pitch.

The obtaining of Dominik Szoboszlai would mean more tactical options, more creativity. It would also mean that there are more options for squad rotation and chances.

The Competition Arsenal Potentially Face

Sniffing around the attacking midfielder, have been Juventus, a big attraction in terms of European football and titles. Arsenal will be looking to repair and rebuild the team in order to bounce back from some of the bad results they have endured this month, making the player an important target.

Salzburg sees the player as an integral part of their plans and future. Both Red Bull outfits have an ethical approach to youth and a policy of signing players under 23 years old. Youth will be a huge part of their plan of action. As a result, snatching up Dominik Szoboszlai will not be a simple feat.
