Latest on Cengiz Under, De Gea, Solanke and Pogba
Arsenal Chase Under
Arsenal are reportedly chasing the signature of £44 million-rated Roma winger Cengiz Under. The 21-year-old joined the Rome club in 2017 from Basaksehir and has made a huge impression. Roma signed him for around €13 million but could be set to sell for three-four times that.
With Danny Welbeck back on the injured list, Arsenal boss Unai Emery has expressed a desire to add to his forward options. Emery could have a battle on his hands to sign Under with Chelsea also monitoring the Turkish international.
David De Gea on Juventus’s Wishlist
Manchester United’s David De Gea could be closer than ever to leaving Old Trafford. Italian champions Juventus are interested and De Gea has reportedly enlisted the help of agent Jorge Mendes to arrange the deal. The Spaniard is closing in on the end of his current contract and a move could now happen.
United can extend the deal for a further 12 months; however, if an extension is not agreed beyond that, De Gea could leave for nothing in 2020. Should Juventus bid and the price is right, United could be tempted to cash in instead of running the risk of losing the keeper for nothing.
Solanke to Leave Liverpool on Loan
Liverpool forward Dominic Solanke looks set to leave Anfield on loan in January. Turkish side Galatasaray are interested in the 21-year-old; however, Rangers, managed by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, are being strongly linked.
Solanke has yet to feature for Liverpool this season but has been in form for England Under 21’s. Rangers were linked with the forward in the summer but failed to strike a deal before the transfer window shut. Solanke could now be offered the chance to lead the line at Ibrox as the Glasgow club battle it out at the top of the Scottish Premier League.
Italian Giants Want Pogba
Juventus and Inter Milan are interested in taking Paul Pogba back to Italy. Juve would like their former star player back; however, Inter could offer Ivan Perisic as part of a deal. Jose Mourinho is reportedly a fan of Perisic and teammate Milan Skriniar. Inter could, therefore, use both to persuade United to part company with the Frenchman.
Mourinho is looking for new recruits, especially in defence as he looks to rebuild his squad. The United manager could, therefore, be very tempted to do a deal due to continued fall-outs with the midfielder. At present it appears that any deal will not happen in January but when the summer transfer window opens.
