The Arsenal Transfercast Episode Seven | Squad Triage

The Arsenal Transfercast is back for its seventh episode, this one featuring a triage of the entire Gunners squad.

After last week’s two-person podcast, the show’s compliment returns to three and the trio takes the time to tell you exactly what Arsenal should do with each member of the current squad in the next window.

Squad Triage

The Arsenal Transfercast features three dedicated gooners. Martin Hawkins serves as department Arsenal content manager and has been at Last Word since January 2018.

Zach Rayment is not only a writer for the site but also produces the Footy A Deaux podcast alongside his brother. Finally, Chance Haire is the youngest podcast panelist, however, he makes up for that with plenty of insight into the game.

Episode seven is a bit of a departure for the team. Normally, the show centres around the latest and greatest Arsenal transfer rumours. However, this week, the team decides to discuss the current squad, including loan players, and what the club should do with each player.

Possibilities include just letting the player be, due to their contract length or squad contribution. Being loaned or sold are other possibilities for players. The panel even decides on certain player extensions in this episode, looking at you, Bukayo Saka.

Many players were easy to figure, for example just letting Bernd Leno be or selling Shkodran Mustafi. Some were quite difficult, however, like what to do with Calum Chambers and what can be done about Mesut Özil.

However, so long as Raul Sanllehi listens to the pod, Gunners can rest assured the next transfer window will be successful.

The run time is also much longer than the normal hour-long episodes. This week, the terrific trio managed to keep the conversation going for almost two hours! Anyway, the podcast can be heard using the link above. Thanks and Come On You Gunners!
